To build a wireless musical instrument for Shah Jahan, students use a programming tool, MakeCode. The code will control the micro:bit inputs and outputs, including ultrasonic sensors and speakers to create the desired musical sound. Overall, creating a wireless musical instrument using a micro:bit is a great way to learn about digital making and computer science concepts, as well as explore the possibilities of creating interactive and musical projects.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the micro:bit hardware and features
  2. Code with MakeCode Block Editor and download the codes onto the micro:bit
  3. Apply programming concepts such as variables, state & events, constructs, selection/conditional statements
  4. Expand the capabilities of the micro:bit using a breakout board
  5. Write simple programs and code the solution behaviour using simple forms of inputs and outputs
